Fight the Seattle Freeze

Fight the Seattle Freeze:
Excerpts and Discussion of S.P. Miskowski’s “Emerald City”.

October 23rd 5pm-6:30pm
15th Ave Coffee and Tea
328 15th Ave East
Seattle, WA

Live Girls! Theater is turning on the oven for our first Layer Cake workshop of the season. Join us for a free reading of excerpts from “Emerald City” by S.P. Miskowski, followed by a talk back. Using “Emerald City” and a glass or two of local wine as a catalyst, we will chat about identity, relationships and cultural change in Seattle.

Triggered by a conversation between Miskowski and Live Girls! Artistic Director Meghan Arnette, about the long-term cultural changes of Seattle, “Emerald City” is a haunting love note/ break up letter to the city. Dot, Scarlett, Tina and Lillian (all whimsically inspired by characters in “The Wizard of Oz”) grapple with longing, urban identity, and change. This event is the second in a series of development workshops planned for Emerald City in 2010 in anticipation of a full production of the show in 2011.

This event is part of Arts Crush, a program of Theater Puget Sound
