in Association with MOHAI
A Layer Cake Workshop reading of:
Emerald City by S.P. Miskowski

Live Girls! is turning up the oven on our first Layer Cake Workshop of the season and we need your help in the kitchen. Be a part of shaping the play by joining Live Girls! Theater for a workshop reading and talk back of Emerald City by S.P. Miskowski. This event is part of a series of development workshops planned for Emerald City in 2010 in anticipation of a full production of the show in 2011.

October 26th 2010
6pm “Tour and Treats”
7pm reading and talk back
Tickets $5-8
– In the Boomtown Gallery
2700 24th Ave E. Seattle

Triggered by a conversation between Miskowski and Live Girls! Artistic Director Meghan Arnette about the changing cultural identity of Seattle, “Emerald City” is a haunting love note/ break up letter to the city. Miskowski artfully connects the past and the present as she weaves together history and a personal tale of longing, urban identity and change.

As a special treat, prior to the reading, Miskowski and Arnette will be leading a gallery highlights tour of MOHAI.  Come early for wine and nibblets and join them as they share the pieces of MOHAI that they love most.

This event is the culmination of a week of events with Miskowski, including a presentation of excerpts from Emerald City, a discussion of change and identity in Seattle and a playwrighting workshop taught by Miskowski.
