Cupcake 2013 – Spring

The Cupcake Reading Series is a staple of LG!’s Bakery Play Development program, which helps female playwrights by providing resources like staged readings, talk-backs and new play commissions. With intimate readings followed by talk-backs, the Cupcake Reading Series gives audiences a chance to get to know the work of exciting up and coming playwrights as well as an opportunity to be directly involved in the shaping of new plays.

2013 Cupcake Reading Series:
Taste a new play every day with presentations of 9 new plays over 5 days. What do you get when you add 8 local female playwrights, 5 days, 1 heaping spoonful of local actors and directors, stir gently and bake? The 2013 Cupcake Spring Reading Series! We selected 7 new plays including work from Rachel Atkins, Joanna Horowitz, Gillian Jorgensen, Juliet Waller Pruzan, Kristen Palmer, Kelsey Wilk, and 2 plays from the ACT Young Playwrights program from Holly Butterfield, and Alyson Davis.
