Things You Can Do by Kristen Palmer

July 8th-31st 2016

Live Girls! is thrilled to announce the world premiere of Things You Can Do, presented with ACTLab this July. Playwright Kristen Palmer takes on the issues of global climate change through the personal lens of a family on the verge of a critical meltdown. Brilliant scientist Stevie returns home in the midst of a devastating personal crisis, only to find her family members frozen in isolation. Emergency actions are taken—a drunken kiss, an icy plunge, and a reckless act of revenge—that threaten this tiny and fragile ecosystem. Directed by Live Girls! founder and Artistic Director Meghan Arnette, Things You Can Do will perform in The Eulalie Scandiuzzi Theatre at ACT.   Tickets available this spring through the ACT ticket office.

Things You Can Do was workshopped as part of the Construction Zone in 2015 under it’s previous title The Melting Point.

More about The Construction Zone-

The 2015 installment of The Construction Zone new play reading series featured four plays curated by Live Girls! Theater with support from ACT. Join us as one of these four plays takes on a new life in a fully-staged production! Curated by local theatres with support from ACT’s Artistic Director John Langs, The Construction Zone provides playwrights with opportunities to develop and share new work, while providing audiences with an intimate and meaningful exposure to the process.  Visit  www.acttheatre.org for more about this exciting theatre’s year round programming.
