WHERE DID THE IDEA FOR YOUR PLAY COME FROM?
I had a title and and really clear ideas of the characters I wanted in the play from the beginning, and mostly improvised my way until I finished.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT IN WORKING ON THIS PIECE?
Probably when I realized that every character had their own stories and motives and then being able to incorporate all of that into the play.
WHAT PROJECTS ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON?
I never walk outside without my camera, and whenever I’m bored I write snippets of stories that float around in my head!
WHO IS YOUR CURRENT ARTIST CRUSH (ANY DISCIPLINE)?
I’m slightly obsessed with the play “Hamilton” written and starred in by Lin Manuel Miranda. He is a talented artist that I greatly admire! Though I can’t say I’ll be writing anything like “Hamilton” anytime soon, Lin Manuel Miranda inspires me to work hard and put my best effort into things.
OUTSIDE OF THEATER, WHAT ARE YOU REALLY INTO RIGHT NOW?
I’m really into photography!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE AND LEAST FAVORITE WORD?
My least favorite word is probably bronze. When someone says it, it sounds fine, but when I repeat it in my head, it makes me shrivel inwardly. I really like the word sonder, it’s meaning and just the sound of it is really pretty.
WHAT WAS THE BEST ADVICE YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN AS A THEATER ARTIST?
To simply let yourself write and act and make the edits later.
FINISH THIS SENTENCE “I LOVE THEATER THAT…”
I love theater that has quirky, relatable characters.
